Gore Place Celebration

June 19, 2015

Back in late August, 2014, we were in the midst of moving this 40-by-70-foot, two-story Carriage House from the northwest corner of Gore St. down 350 feet south. Once Gore St. was finished with its reconstruction, the Carriage House was relocated back near its original location. The house has come a long way (figuratively and literally), since the move.

In 1785, the newly wed Boston couple, Christopher and Rebecca Gore, bought their first piece of land in Waltham and in 1793 built a wooden mansion along with a large carriage house. Six years later, the mansion burned to the ground. Nearly 220 years later, the Carriage House still stands to this day.

Tonight, we were invited to attend the Carriage House Celebration Gala in rejoice of it's restoration. The event will begin at 6 PM and is set to run though the night. This historic building will house a wonderful evening filled with select cocktails, fine dinner, and good company.
